Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif ordered international organizations to be informed immediately about the technical failure in the Neelum-Jhelum hydroelectric project and to complete the rehabilitation work of the plant as soon as possible.

A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on the sudden technical failure in the Neelum-Jhelum hydroelectric project and the fire at the Guddu power station.

The Prime Minister was informed that the closure of the 3.5 km long tailwater tunnel of the Neelum-Jhelum hydroelectric project affected the power generation of the power station, making the national grid 969 MW cheaper and less environmentally friendly during the recent scorching heat. lost hydropower.

Taking stern note of the incident, the Prime Minister ordered the authorities involved to immediately investigate the incident from authorized international bodies and complete the rehabilitation work of the plant as soon as possible.

The Prime Minister ordered to provide relief to the people as soon as possible using all available resources in this regard.

The Prime Minister further said that we are implementing an effective system of prequalification and monitoring and evaluation of companies by third parties to ensure transparency and quality in development work.
