Guddu power plant fire; Addition of 1747 MW to the shortfall

 The current energy crisis in the country is likely to intensify further.


After the Neelum-Jhelum hydroelectric project, power from the Guddu power station also flowed into the national grid, after which the energy crisis in the country is likely to deepen.

The fire at the Guddu power station has dumped 1,747 MW of electricity into the national grid and the deficit has increased further, likely to further aggravate the energy crisis in the country.

The Power Division has informed the Prime Minister about the fire incident at Guddu Power Plant.

Officials from the Division of Energy said investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the fire at the Guddu power station and strict action will be taken against

On the other hand, the Neelum Neelum Jhelum Hydel power project is out of the 969 MW power system due to a tunnel failure. The fault in the tunnel of the project has not been fixed yet, the fault will be fixed after the complete cleaning of the tunnel, it may take another 15 to 20 days.
