Gilgit-Baltistan has recorded 42% less rainfall this month
Federal Climate Change Minister Sherry Rehman says Sindh and Baluchistan have been under heavy monsoon pressure for the past 13 days. Where there has been more rain than usual during the 30s.
On the microblogging site Twitter, Federal Minister Sherry Rehman said that over the past 30 years, Sindh received 625% more rain in July this year, while Baluchistan received 501% more rain.
Similarly, Azad Kashmir has received 11 per cent more rain, Punjab 61 per cent and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 11 per cent more so far.
On the other hand, this month there has been 42% less rainfall in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The Federal Minister further said that the monsoon pressure is still present in Sindh and Balochistan, which will lead to heavier and more torrential rains. Heavy rain is expected to increase starting tomorrow (Thursday, July 14).
